“LAS VEGAS!”

~ Billie Joe Armstrong on being drunk as hell.

“Y'know”

~ Billie Joe Armstrong on everything

Billie in his natural state.

Billie Joe Neil Armstrong, also called Billy Joel Armweak by hooligans who like to piss off fans, is a pop punk musician from the band Green Day. He sings most of their songs, except the one where Tre Cool sings about masturbation. He was born in Oakland, California, and raised in Rodeo, California, which to popular belief, isn't an actual rodeo.

Early Life[edit]

Billie was born on February 17, 1972, in Oakland, California. His father died from cancer, and wrote a song about it, just when Hurricane Katrina came in to sink New Orleans. When he was in elementary school, he met the band's (Green Day, if you have already forgotten) bassist and sane-man, Mike Dirnt. They bonded from their interest in punk, and from sharing peanut butter sandwiches. Billie is known for his pot addiction, ever since the rightful age of twelve. Throughout his teenage years, he has seen enlightenment from pot and the occasional cocaine, which helped him to become the great constantly stoned musician he is known for today.

Career[edit]

At age 15, Billie and Mike formed the band "Sweet Children", along with John Kiffmeyer on drums, and some other guy on bass. After a few years of absolutely nothing, that other guy left the band, and Mike took over as the bassist. They then changed the band's name to "Green Day", because of their love of smoking pot for days. Then in 1990, they released their first album, "39/Smooth", which was forgotten when they released its better cousin, "1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours".

You worry, you worry, you rub, you worry...

Becoming Popular[edit]

In 1991, John left the band to go to college, and to our knowledge, he still isn't a drummer. Tre Cool, a crazy mo-fo', was recruited to be the drummer of Green Day. After another album (Kerplunk!), they recorded the album "Liquid Bum Juice", after Billie's favorite pass time. Obviously, the record label was disgusted by the name, so Billie changed the name to "Dookie". It became the most popular 90's punk album about crap. Later, in 1995, he was failing to get some sleep, because his newborn son, and to put the child to sleep, his band made the new album "Insomniac" (it's obvious where the name comes from). Although the album failed to put Billie's son to sleep, the album achieved popularity with many people. In 1997, Billie was pissed with many people, like club owners and his former girlfriend, so he made the album "Nimrod", most likely named after those said people. The song, "Time of Your Life", became popular as a high school graduation song.

American Idiot[edit]

When George W. Bush became president, Billie was enraged. So as a big middle finger to the said president, he made the album "Warning", which wasn't popular and only sold two CD's. Billie now was pissed off beyond belief, and personally called George W. Bush, and told him to stop being an "American Idiot". That's when inspiration hit Billie. He and the other Green Day members recorded the album "American Idiot", as a bigger middle finger to the president. This album became popular and is said to be their best album, though many believe it's not a punk album.

This was Green Day's first practice room, aka Mike Dirnt's mother's basement.

21st Century Breakdown[edit]

After the popularity of American Idiot, Billie and the other band members decided to write another album like American Idiot, but with more songs. After months of recording, they released the new album, "21st Century Breakdown". It's about a couple robbing a bank and kissing on top of a burning car. The song, 21 Guns, which was about Billie's 21-pack chest, was a hit, and was played on every radio station in the country, which annoyed anyone trying to find real punks like 5 Seconds of Summer on the radio.

The Trilogy[edit]

In 2012, they released the album trilogy, "Uno!", "Dos!", and "Tre!", and with the exception of "Dos!", the albums sold well enough for the band to tour again. They forgot to release the actual last album, which was "Cuatro!". Billie didn't like any of the songs on the album, so they put all that album's CD's on a rocket into the sun. According to Jason White, they never made an album called "Cuatro!", so our information about that album might be false.

Revolution Radio[edit]

After that abominable trilogy of albums, Billie realized how stupid the songs Green Day were recording, and sobered the hell up. They then went to the ol' recording studio to record a bunch of songs about how bad the 2016 US elections were going. Out came Revolution Radio, which unfortunately didn't become American Idiot 2. It does have a few decent songs like Bang Bang and Outlaws, but most of the song titles come from previous Green Day lyrics.

Personal life[edit]

When he was a little scamp, his father gave him a blue guitar, which Billie creatively named "Blue". He loves the guitar as if it was his own son, and rumors state he keeps the guitar in a locked room (aka his closet) in his bedroom. In 1990, Billie met Adrienne Nesser while he and his band was performing in Minnesota. She went with the band, and moved in with Billie, which was a warehouse filled with rats and boxes of Billie's pot, which many of the rats smoked. After Adrienne moved in, the rats moved out after wanting to pursue their music career. A year later, they became the band Rancid, who then later asked Billie if he wanted to join their band. He denied, stating that Green Day was becoming successful, in terms of punk music. Adrienne and Billie got married in 1994, and had two children, Joseph Marciano Armstrong, and Jakob Danger Armstrong (yes, his middle name really is "Danger").

Incidents[edit]

Even though Billie tries to not cause trouble and mayhem in public, he still has many incidents. Here's a list of them:

  • In 1996, he was naked in public. Because he was in Wisconsin and not California, a police officer was offended and arrested him for "indecent exposure". His cell-mate, Shirley Manson, of Wisconsin rock band Garbage, was ironically charged with "not-so-decent exposure".
  • In January 2003, he was driving drunk, and crashed into a police station. He was pulled over (well, he WAS already in a police station) for speeding into a police station, but was only arrested for being drunk beyond reason.
  • On October 1st, 2006, a British radio station called Billie, just after midnight, and told him to wake up. He was pissed off, and in retaliation, sent Serj Tankian, one of his friends, to the radio station that called him. Serj kept waking up the personnel at the radio station. Okay, the retaliation part didn't happen, but Billie was still pissed.
  • In September 2011, he got kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight because he wasn't wearing pants. So he went on Twitter and posted "Just got kicked off a Southwest flight because my pants sagged too low!". The flight attendant who kicked him off stated he wasn't wearing pants to begin with.
  • On September 21, 2012, Green Day performed at iHeartRadio's Las Vegas music festival, while Billie was drunk out of his mind. Because the crowd was boring as fudge, Billie tried to get the crowd excited by screaming "LAS VEGAAAASSS!!". It barely worked, and told the crowd to storm the isles. Later, the event's performers cut short the band's performance to bring Usher back on stage. At the last minute of the performance, Billie became furious at the iHeartRadio event setters, so he stopped the band, and ranted that they gave him "one minute left". He then smashed his guitar, and checked himself into rehab.
