Are we doing anything on main page for April Fools Day. Being a comedy website I suggest that we do however I'm not sure if it's a tradition here (just after I joined I remember that RAHB did one without people's permission and got a hefty ban). I dunno but I expect they will, even the BBC does and that's saying something. Even if they don't we can imagine what it would be like. That's actually not a bad idea for a joke but not sure it's appropriate for April Fool's Day as April Fool's Day is about telling an outrageous lie. Do you know how hard it is to create an upside-down page? (Which is why we don't have a good one yet.)

These jokes should be topical and ultimately not interfere with the use of the site. Topical stuff concerning people's religion or politics that is not tightly bound to current events leaves people wondering what axe the author is grinding, as I've often written about UnNewses. I don't think there is any doubt that we are still active, but let me know what tweaks you need to things. The top-of-page site notice hasn't been changed in a while; perhaps rather than the usual plea for funds we are starting a blood drive "to keep the site alive." Spıke Ѧ 13:27 30-Mar-14

   Now ScottPat, who thinks this site is a comedy site when I think it's a satire site (they overlap but are not the same, and I can accept that's its both), edit-conflicted me down below. I'll post all of this with my original time, at the bottom:

Blood donation idea

I'll leave the vote running till tomorrow so that everyone has a chance to vote but it seems like the blood donation banner will be the idea we go with.

For the blood donation poster I think we should do it in the same style as the spoon's donation banner. Have a picture of a needle full of blood or an eerie operating table and then the writing on top of that describing how we need blood to feed our vampire admins or servers or whatever and then where the spoon has their "read about" button we just link it to a page that says "APRIL FOOLS!" in big letters. Tropical cyclone Idea

As for Aleister's idea I'm not sure what exactly is supposed to happen as I clicked on Tropical cyclone and I no animation has occured. The question is is it April Fools themed? The Main page twirling away is a great idea like having the main page turned upside down but I'm not sure that it's appropriate for a day where we tell a fib and try to pass it off as seriousness, it seems to have little to do with it. I propose we leave the cyclonic main page idea out for now and do that to the main page on another annual special event like "International Hurrican Day" (or something along those lines). Conclusion

Right then you've had plenty of time to vote and more importantly we have run out of time to vote.

I propose we do as follows: Romartus (or whoever's responsible) puts up a blood donation banner on the main page with a grisly picture and a caption like: "Uncyclopedia needs your help to survive. Please donate blood generously" (some wording along those lines). On a tab or link at the bottom that reads "Read more" it links to Spike's helpful blood donation page.

I'm afraid however that even though the site banner has enlarged, on my screen there is simply a big clickable blank piece of space, which when I click on it takes me too the blood donation picture. April Fools Day ends at midday in Britain at least (British media take their jokes off the webpages in compliance with this). I had presumed it did so in USA as wikipedia states "in countries whose traditions derived from the UK, excluding Australia, the joking ceased at midday.[12] A person playing a joke after midday is the "April fool" themselves." I took that to mean USA ends their joke at midday (there's no section for USA on wikipedia's April Fools Day anyway). The Australians would have completed their whole day and Hawaii would have just gone past midday at 6 British time so I thought it would have been a great time to take it down but apolagies if the USA's April Fools goes beyond midday.
