Hi I'm new to the site. Howdy long timers.
I'd like to suggest an addition to a page, that I think would be good content to the site, but it's protected. Is there a way I can submit a temporary edit or something and hope that it gets approved? I searched the FAQ and saw nothing on this issue.

- Newly registered users have their access rights limited for first few days in case they turn out to be bad boys (sometimes bad girls). Some articles - the ones marked featured for example - receive this protection - as does templates which can normally only be changed by users with admin rights. Since this is for your first edit, I will add a welcome template to your page. --

- Also: If the reason it was protected was that it was a featured article (that is, ran on our main page), it can be brought up-to-date but is presumed not to need help being funny at all. If there is a related joke that needs to be told, there are many unused article names available. Spıke Ѧ 11:53 27-Jan-14
