OK. Welcome to the First Annual Sliferjam Contest. Follow the rules and you could win the GRAND PRIZE*!*nopurchasenecessarymustbe13yearsoroldertoenteractualprizemayvarysliferjamretainsallrightstoendstoporotherwisechangecontestatwill There is actually a physical prize to win. It is not air or whatever I have in my pocket at the time. It might even be money. I doubt it, but it could be. Awards for first, second, and third place will be awarded at the end. UPDATE! the grand prize is...... a vacation to wherever you are right now! And a one dollar bill. That's a total of $1. More prizes may and probably will be added after next payday.

How to Win

The first people to successfully complete each task will be given points based on a carefully calculated system. The points will (eventually) be counted up at the end of the contest and the person with the most points at the end wins. Bonus points will be awarded at regular intervals. A new task will be established every once in a while, like every week or so.

The Rules

  • You must enter!
  • Obey the rules!
  • Don't cheat!
  • No sabotaging others!
  • Many contests will be held on or over the IRC uncyc chatroom.
  • I am the ref, judge, jury, taste tester, and tax-man.
  • Any vandalism to this page or any one's entries will NOT be tolerated. Instant DQ.
  • Only one entry per task allowed.

FIRST TASK

The first task is to create an image. It must consist of, at the very least, a frog, a tornado, a cherry tree, three spoons and a past President of the United States. Arrange them in the order of your liking. Points will be awarded based on originality, humour, and artistic quality. Post them here. Deadline Jan 20, 2007

FIRST TASK ENTRIES

William Howard Taft was widely considered to be the most bizarre of US presidents. User:Nintendorulez

Contrary to popular belief, George Washington actually did not have a moustache when this portrait was made. It was added in by the artist, who believed the portrait "wasn't silly enough." --The Acceptable Thinking cap small.png Cainad Sacred Chao.png (Fnord) 07:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

First Task Tally

As previously stated, scores for the first task are based on originality, humour, and artistic quality. I will judge the required elements and how they are used by these things.

As a secret test, I have removed points for use of George Washington as the past President, as it is a somewhat well-known fact that he cut down a cherry tree. Use of the two together is not very original. Use of other presidents is. Sorry for the trick, expect more like it in the future.

Example Originality: (comment) (score) Humour: (comment) (score) Artistic Quality: (comment) (score) Total: (score)

Nintendorulez Originality: Frogger? Good choice. Spoon-stache? Very 'original'. Head on a tornado-body? Not so original. 6/10 Humour: Funny spoon-stache. Rest average. 5/10 Artistic Quality: Good collage, interesting choices on a few things, good colour-relations between the red tree and spoons and the black and white tornado, Taft, and spoon. 8/10 Total: 19/30

No, yuo Originality: Yeah... pretty original. I've only seen the likes of this in pre-school. 4/10 Humour: Spoons as axes are not very funny. 3/10 Artistic Quality: Good, for a three year old. 4/10 Total: 11/30

Sannse Originality: It's quite original, I guess. 7/10 Humour: I thought that this was humourous. 7/10 Artistic Quality: Quite nice. 8/10 Total: 22/30

Spang Originality: Crazy frog...:( The rest is good. 6/10 Humour: Clinton's spoon ninja powers is humourous. 7/10 Artistic Quality: The tornado and blood are sloppily done. 5/10 Total: 18/30

Mhaille Originality: Nice one. 7/10 Humour: Punny. Well done. Funny little head in the cockpit. 8/10 Artistic Quality: Highlighting the people was a good decision. 8/10 Total: 23/30

Cainad Originality: Original? Maybe. Washington and cherry tree isn't original. 5/10 Humour: Purple moustache. 5/10 Artistic Quality: It's okay, I guess. 5/10 Total: 15/30

DiZ Originality: Another Crazy frog. Another Washington-cherry tree. 4/10 Humour: Crazy Frog, spoon warrior. Nice. 7/10 Artistic Quality: I don't see alot here... 4/10 Total: 15/30

Savethemooses Originality: Originality awesome. Good T-Spoons, and Cherry Tree. 10/10 Humour: A textbook. Hmmm. 4/10 Artistic Quality: Good collage. 6/10 Total: 20/30

Mrthejazz Originality: Originality okay. I'll let the negative Washington rule slide on this one, as it is Mount Rushmore. 6/10 Humour: Oh shit, tornado! Well done. 7/10 Artistic Quality: Too much squareness! 5/10 Total: 18/20

Tom mayfair Originality: Pretty good. 8/10 Humour: Spoons as a musical instrument. WB frog and Teddy in an act. Kansas. Nicely done. 7/10 Artistic Quality: Everything but a small bit of tree is perfect. 9/10 Total: 24/30

Good job, everyone! Look forward to another Task soon!

SECOND TASK

And by soon, I mean now! The second task is to write an Indiana Jones-esque short story or article. The story or article MUST be entitled "The Legend of Ron and the Cheeseburger." It must include the following: Ron, the Cheezeburger, at least one 'temple', an exciting plot, and an original ending. You may set the story wherever you want and whenever you want. Points will be awarded based on originality, humour, and worthiness. Post them IN YOUR OWN USERSPACE, and then link them below. Deadline Feb 14, 2007 UPDATE! CONTEST EXTENDED UNTIL MARCH FIRST! I JUST FINISHED MOVING.

Third Task

A Massive Picture Collaboration, featuring whatever you want it to feature. Everybody add something, and keep collaborating. No erasing others work without their permission, and and no excessiveness. Take turns, make it rememberable, smart, and funny. Maybe this will be more clear: People will add something to this image, then someone else will, then someone else and so forth. To avoid two people working on it at the same time, talk between yourselves about who gets to work on it and when. If that doesn't work, I will assign times. It will work like so: someone will edit the image using whatever they feel like using, then they will upload it to replace the current image. Then someone else takes a turn. Etc. You get the picture? Points will be awarded by a method I will not yet reveal, but still do your best. Task will end on the last of April.

Start with this.

FOURTH THINGY

The fourth task is to ... well, do something. You decide whatt it is you want to do. RULES: It has to pay respects to my ultimate power... over squirrels and all things jam.

BTW, anyone that edited the image in task 3 wins 50 points. subsequent edits will now award 15 points, even to those lucky enough to have been awarded 50 points. limit one, please (points, not edits). I'll fix the scores later.

    • I cannot believe we're still doing this. It's completely absurd, and I'm desperate to finish losing. Also, this was started on January 7th of this year. The second annual contest is coming up! --The Acceptable Thinking cap small.png Cainad Sacred Chao.png (Fnord) 01:07, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
