HotCat is a gadget that enables easy adding and removing of categories. It is explained in more detail at Wikipedia's page on it.

Uncyclopedia uses a modified version of HotCat that is designed to work on Wikia wikis. Wikia's Oasis skin changes the structure of the category bar in certain namespaces, including main (article) space, in a way that makes it impossible for HotCat to find it and insert its links. Uncyclopedia's version is located at MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js, and its maintainer keeps a beta version at User:Llwy-ar-lawr/hotcatdraft.css. Both produce edit summaries that link to this page, but the latter has a link reading "HotCatDraft" instead of "HotCat".
