REWRITE[edit]

I will hopefully start a rewrite with others, and am looking for suggestions. Anyone interested? Chocolate Rain 18:41, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Myocardialinfarction 16:47, September 2, 2009 (UTC) I've personally always thought Shatner's speech style should be gramatically rendered with exclamation points instead of commas. Also with more contortionism, as in the parody on Family Guy.

First Image Caption[edit]

I'm not entirely sure who keeps adding the "JJ Abrams" thing in the caption for the first image, but I really think there should be a joke actually pertaining to Kirk's screaming. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned that way, but I just think it's a better way to start off the article. ~ Empress Satire 7:46 P.M. September 12, 09

Quotes[edit]

For anyone who's wondering, the mountain quotes refer to Shatner's explanation of Kirk's climbing the mountain in Star Trek V. For parody see [HERE[1]].

No quotes on the page, and besides, you didn't put the commas and things in the quotes. This, is, true. Aleister, in, Chain...s 23:38 10 4 mmx

Re: {{Ugly}}[edit]

Are you referring to the obscene amount of commas in here that's supposed to make it sound like a certain narrator's speaking habit? Just do a Ctrl-F and delete all the commas. If it's something else... --50.47.57.50 18:38, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

point 57[edit]

Well kirk did kinda become a borg so the point is redundant

2015 rewrite[edit]

EpicWinner and CrappyUncyclopedian1111, welcome to the page. Epic, you have a tendency to work as though you were the only person on this project. In the case of James T. Kirk, you are editing a page that CrappyUncyclopedian1111 also set out to reform. There is nothing wrong with this, though he started first, but you must synchronize your efforts with him, and this here page would be a damned good place to start doing it.

The article was, well, crappy, because it used a comma after every word to illustrate William Shatner's horrible acting. The problem, as we set out in HTBFANJS, is that (1) this tells the same joke hundreds of times, and (2) it makes the entire article hard to read--It is in code. Crappy is removing this crap, but only a little at a time. Yes, it is hard work, but I already invited him to pursue it in his userspace until he gets it done. As there are two of you in the article, if he were to do that now, then moving it back to the encyclopedia would destroy Epic's edits.

It would be nice not to lose the joke entirely; Shatner was/is a horrible actor; and it is essential that, once the commas are removed, what is left still be funny.

So I invite the both of you to coordinate your edits, and maybe even plan what you want the article to be, by posting below on this page. Spıke 🎙️23:11 1-Oct-15

I believe that the article should focus more on the ridiculous factor of Shatner's career and less on his Star Trek characterization. I also believe the article should be moved to William Shatner rather than James T. Kirk. However, I'm not really a fan of his, so coming up with original material with be hard.--EpicWinner (talk) 23:44, October 1, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. There is always tons of original material at Wikipedia, waiting to be misunderstood as only we can do it. Are you aware of his signature bad acting on the 9-1-1 call the day his wife drowned in the pool? I mention it at Hikaru Sulu. Our William Shatner redirects here, so rather than sweat which page has the actual meat, spend your time simply improving it. I would prefer that, rather than deciding that an article should really be something else, you simply helped it do well at what it is trying to be. As Shatner is merely a redirect, this name is available for your moves in a radical new direction. Crappy, do you have your "ears" on? Spıke 🎙️23:53 1-Oct-15

Article[edit]

For the sake of keeping this article true to Kirk, I have eliminated the initial references to William Shatner even though it is quite a good intro. If you have not read Uncyclopedia:Beginner's Guide/Overview about making an article actually look like one on wikipedia(somewhat), please do so. For the purpose of making fun of William Shatner's horrid acting, I have made William Shatner an actual article instead of a redirect for others to contribute to. Thanks for reading! --CrappyUncyclopedian1111 (talk) 15:27, November 12, 2015 (UTC)
