Making fun of your country?[edit]

Well people as you should know... this site is not the real one. To the people posting this site:... there are some things you should have avoided.. making fun of your on country to the rest of the world... does not give a nice impression to others.

Aw, c'mon. Susy Diaz, Authentic Interpretation, Combis, Pueblos Jovenes, there's lots to laugh about, and that doesn't mean you hate your country. Some of us northamericans who contribute have thoroughly ridiculed our own State too. If anything, it will show that Peruvians have a sense of humor, which is true. Get one! and take one of the cities that only stupid stuff is written about and write something more clever and subtle. I've only edited the sections about places I've gone to. --SpikeFromNH 00:06, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

The Phrasebook[edit]

{{help}}Beacon taken down by SpikeFromNH 22:20, September 18, 2009 (UTC)

I've rewritten most of this article in the past month, except for part of the Phrasebook. An anonymous user (and it took him three tries!) has just modified one of the entries. Am reluctant to roll back his line, even though the big-black-people-are-scary joke is not one of my favorites, and I know some people who won't find it funny at all. Even though the streets in Lima are pretty dark and big people there would scare me.

But there's a bigger problem here. The Phrasebook section itself doesn't fit in the article, or even Uncyclopedia. The anonymous contributor was at least trying to be funny, in his own way; but the Phrasebook is trying to be useful. It's partly my fault, as existing entries called to mind bits of Peruvian slang, and bits of the rest of the article do need a glossary. Some of the stuff in the last section of the Phrasebook that are trying to be funny are essentially inside jokes. Make it its own article? Delete it entirely? --SpikeFromNH 05:31, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

I'd say remove it. It's not that funny, and the article is long anyway. --C:\syndrome\_ 21:03, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
Of course you could make if funny, but as it stands it's not worth keeping. --C:\syndrome\_ 21:11, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I'll address the size issue right now by moving the Phrasebook to a new article, User:SPIKE/Peruvian slang. I'll leave the beacon up for a couple more days to see if anyone else has a comment. --SpikeFromNH 04:09, September 14, 2009 (UTC) Address revised (article hit VFD and was user-fied) Spıke Ѧ 22:43 8-Sep-10

there is too much spanish in the article[edit]

asdf The preceding unsigned comment was added by 146.83.180.2 (talk • contribs)

Unfortunately, that is what they speak there. In a couple cases, there is a translation in the footnotes. There is a Spanish version on Inciclopedia that you'll really hate. Spıke Ѧ 22:41 8-Sep-10

“Yo soy el chucha acá”

~ local hero Waldir Saenz on himself

Here is an example from the top of the article that Anon might have meant. Some of these Spanish quotes are followed by their translation, but I am reluctant to follow this one with its translation, roughly, "I'm the real cunt here." To readers on the ground: Is this quote still relevant?

The quote after it, untranslated, is an excellent example of incoherent babble by a "nuclear physicist." But this stereotype might better be replaced by something real from current events. Sugerencias? Spıke Ѧ 12:48 11-Sep-10

peru economy[edit]

I have added the paras about economy, which were missing or scattered in his article. Even while editing it, Spike has undone my edits twice. He has created this page but seems he owns it. I disagree with his point of view that my writings are not funny for him. This is a very weird opinion. Unless we have many others giving the same remark, this is just unfair. Uncyclopedia is not a strict medium specially for pages which have no data at all, e.g. Peru. Therefore I have undone his action to move my content to special page. Economy will be part of Peru main page. Finally, even before I could comment about my edit in this talk page, Spike had already undone my edits. This is not fair play. Tragedyindia (talk) 14:40, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

It works better if two writers can agree to collaborate to improve an article rather than fight over it. An entry for the Peruvian economy is a good idea but I think your additions need further polish and are a bit obscure. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 21:49, February 27, 2015 (UTC)
I am open for discussion. but it does not have to be within the hour of edits? should it? point the things that should change, I did change the last time. I have some exp. in wikipedia too, im not coming here to spoil things. But skipe has undone three edits already. Is it a proper culture? If my edit is completely useless, then i want it to be reported by a group and i can remove it. I'm shocked that uncyclopedia is moderated worse than even wikipedia by this spike. You get fewer editors here and yet you are just showing ownerships to them. I enjoyed this site few years back. I will readd my edit now for the third time, and if spike does not like it, use the talk page for all communication, no undoes!. Tragedyindia (talk) 17:20, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia is not a blog where any negative comments on a subject are equally welcome; it is a group editing project with a focus on a quality result. I did indeed move Tragedyindia's edits to a new Doing business in Peru — and afterward, went into it and reworded things. This does not mean I think I "own" the new page, but that Tragedyindia does not write English very well; in fact, it would be nice if Tragedyindia would put aside the antagonism and go in and refine it. There is nothing unfair about me taking this step without giving Tragedyindia the chance to comment — and rather than continuing the conversation on his talk page, he broadcasts here about the website's unfairness.
The article Peru, by comparison, I have managed since 2009, and a new user of 1 day should not declare that "Economy will be part of Peru main page" — especially in the exact, crude form it was contributed. Spıke Ѧ 22:17 27-Feb-15
Check my history, if I am new user of the day? You really need to learn culture of colaboration before you become self appointed moderator here. You manageing the page but not helping the reader identify the economy? how can u mix this subject without a proper sector heading. if you have managed this page then you have done a terrible job. I dont know how many editors you have kicked just like this. Lastly do look at countries in wikipedia, the proper headings to help readers, I added what I saw was missing. doing business is not my topic. im not telling how to start a company! im telling what businesses are functioning in this country. Tragedyindia (talk) 17:20, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Of course, I have already checked your history. You had a single edit in 2010, consisting of typing comparably adversarial rhetoric into the text of OpenStreetMap, which was immediately reverted. If you do not like Doing business in Peru, you are able to rename it. However, your material, which is very specific to minerals engineering, has of much less general interest than the other material in the article, is not generally amusing, and uses poor English. I am not "self-appointed" but was elected to the position over two years ago. I have offered you patient commentary here and on your own talk page. That is not exactly "kicking" you. Now I will kick you, and enjoy three days without your drama. Spıke Ѧ 17:32 1-Mar-15
