Clarifying my edit summary, etc.[edit]

I'd like to clarify what I meant by "serious full-length anime" in my last edit summary. I know that this is a big quibble to make over a category, but I was referring to any animated work that satisfies the following criteria:

  1. It must have had a verifiable commercial release, preferably in brick-and-mortar stores as opposed to solely on an online retailer.
  2. It must verifiably be considered canonical within the Touhou franchise.
  3. It must be of sufficient running time at least to qualify as an Original Video Animation (OVA).

I'm probably wrong since I'm not a Touhou expert; is there anyone out there who is an expert and is able to help maintain this article? (The article as it stands is just a big wall of text; let's start by breaking it down into subsections.) --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 02:53, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

tl;dr problems[edit]

It's just too plain long. No one's going to bother to read all this. Maybe we could compact it. InnerPuppy 00:05, July 17, 2010 (UTC)

Zelda connections[edit]

I recently removed "also known as Ganondorf" from the lead, and at the time (in the VFD discussion which was going on) there appeared to be strong consensus that the change was appropriate. I just noticed that the "Early life" paragraph begins with "Born in the Gerudo Desert..." Should that be removed too? Should I reconsider my original change? --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 03:21, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

"Touhou" or "BouHou"?[edit]

Opinion requested on these edits (diff), which attempted to correct a possibly intentional misspelling. --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 00:18, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, my misspelling was deliberate, by way of satire. I presume Anon is a fanatic offended by the misspelling who wants to direct traffic to his site--and not even the Wikia-affiliated wiki. I am mildly opposed to those changes; they don't destroy the humor but humping his web site is not what we're for. Spıke Ѧ 00:49 18-Jan-11
Ok. I will go ahead and revert the Anonymous Coward now. Could you clarify what the spam was? I didn't see any external links added in those diffs. --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 02:14, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
The previous Anon, in his edit of 31-Dec, touted en.touhouwiki.net, at the start and the end of this article, as a preferred destination. I don't know what state the Wikia site is in--it was helpful enough for me to learn a little about this, and to grab a couple photos--but that change is essentially an advertisement. I'm in error above in implying the two Anons are necessarily the same person. Spıke Ѧ 02:39 18-Jan-11
I have heard elsewhere, very recently, that the Wikia site is being deprecated (i.e., is no longer a recommended target for editing) and that all new edits should go to en.touhouwiki.net instead, which is run by several major editors of the Wikia site. I don't know whether the Wikia is going to be locked or shut down, though. I hope you have no objections to my not reverting the external link changes. --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 03:30, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
Your justification is complete. If you find out the Wikia site is taken down, I hope you will also remove that option from the text. Thanks. Spıke Ѧ 03:42 18-Jan-11
The Wikia site has not been taken down and is being remade, in case anyone was wondering. So if the wikia site could be added back, that would be nice. --Ehli 23:10, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
There continue to be pointers to both sites at the end of the article. It is courtesy to our Wikia hosts to have the pointer to their wiki. Resolving a dispute as to which wiki is preferable is something I can't help with. Spıke Ѧ 23:20 5-Feb-11
