Interesting article. I think I first heard of the National Review in one of Woody Allen's film where the mere mention of the magazine's name brought on a look of distaste and terror. I can't remember which movie it was. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 17:33, October 24, 2014 (UTC)

This appears to be Annie Hall, where Allen's character reacts in horror on learning that his ex's new boyfriend reads National Review. I thought about joking about the relative lack of horror regarding Allen's diddling of his "stepdaughter," but the chronology makes it a stretch. Spıke Ѧ 18:05 24-Oct-14
Ahh! Yes, thanks for the reference. I recall watching that film in the 1970s and being curious to know more about the reference. All I knew was that it was 'right wing' and so therefore bad for all Woody Allen leaning types. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 19:46, October 25, 2014 (UTC)
In fact, I worked the joke into the final section anyway. Spıke Ѧ 19:52 25-Oct-14
