Endnotes: I'd put a little more depth in the character, personally. I wasn't interested in the pudding, of course; it is the character that drove the piece for me. And the character is a little too flat to be interesting to me for long: his only point of reference is pudding-in-the-present. Was it a revolt against his obscenely thin no-sugar mother which drove him to be a pudding-junky? Did he do time in the Big House, feeding his jones on rubbery lime Jello until he could get out of prison and go after thick, creamy, gooey, chocolaty pudding again? Did the CIA pudding-board him until he cracked? What about his girlfriend(s) -- what sort of titillating side effects does his relationship suffer due to his obsession?
I would appreciate hints of his past, glimpses of his broader existence.
As you know, these things can be inserted with a single sentence or even a phrase, parenthetically, throwaway lines that merely throw the character into three dimensions.
