John Adams[edit]

I know its a copy but im sorta starting small before i try anything funny --Ironic Youth 11:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC) Ironic Youth 11:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Humour: 3 Yes, this is a copy, and a rather poor one at that. What made Martin Van Buren so funny was the fact that it was completely out-of-left-field unexpected. When you copy something like that, it kills most of what makes the idea funny in the first place--its unexpectedness. I would imagine this is your first article. Let me tell you--virtually everyone's first articles here suck, mine especially so. What you've got to do to ensure your articles don't suck is find what you know and find to be funny, and write about that. Find your groove, or niche, or whatever. And semi-plagerizing some else's work is no way to go about doing that.
Concept: 1 Seeing as it isn't your own concept, and has been copied to a T, it's hard for me to award you any points here.
Prose and formatting: 4 Though there are few spelling mistakes, your prose is very awkward in that you attempt to copy the colloquial, disgruntled style of Martin Van Buren and fail pretty hard at doing so. Your introductory paragraph is a prime example: read it aloud to yourself, and you'll see what I mean.
Images: 4 They're all pretty standard. I'm not a fan of the first one--there's got to be at least 600,000 oil paintings of John Adams, why not use one of those? The stamp tax one is cliched, and the one of the eaten sandwich--excuse me, corn chips--seems oddly familiar in concept.
Miscellaneous: 3 Average-ish
Final Score: 15 Instead of slavishly copying someone elses work, why not make some of your own, original work?
