  • Your entry made me smile, so I'll read the article later. I put a template on it yesterday, and it seemed fine, but I didn't read much. It would be kind of ironic, as writers, if we once again sacked the Great Library of Alexandria, so I have a feeling we all can pitch in and save this. And I have a thing for great libraries, so there's that. Virginia. hahahahahahhahahaha. Aleister 17:32 28-1-'13
Abstain pending Aleister. A Great Library in Alexandria, Virginia does sound like a comedy strategy, if it includes the city's Branch Libraries and Bookmobiles. The intro, though, says that it was named for a sexy woman. It is not "about" Scottish midgets; but it is full of Randumbo. Aleister, make it "about" something. Spıke Ѧ 18:00 28-Jan-13
There was no writing on the page worth saving, but I think we do need a page by this name - an affront to uncyclopedia to huff this title. So, I made a slight improvement. Feature. Aleister 23:20 30-1-'13

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. a typical pointless colored box template. This is a parody of another template that was deleted, which makes it an orphaned inside joke. --Mn-z 13:12, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. And it is a magnet for the Template Spammer, who yesterday learned he can evade a ban by moving to different seats in the Public Library, or something. 3. Code copied, now no pages left for this template. Aleister 20:33 25-1-'13
  4. Delete The code for stopping a template from transcluding is actually really easy to put together. The argument then is what is the point in having a template where we limit where it can be transcluded to. Given my hatred of “snakes on a plane” meme, I'd happily delete.                               Puppy's talk page06:35 02 Feb

  • I don't know, this one might only be used on Snake articles and be alright for that purpose (i.e. Corn snake). I'll check the links here thing and remove it from any other. Aleister 13:34 25-1-'13
I would object to that on two reasons. First, I don't like starting articles with bright boxes o' canned humor. Second, it is a reference to another, deleted template, making it a orphaned inside joke. --Mn-z 15:24, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
The reason we have any such templates is to parody the templates that Wikipedia's most tedious editors use to get other people to do the work. Wikipedia has no templates to describe a page for the benefit of the reader; and all of these that we have serve as an easy tool for Anons to put their stamp on an article without the painful chore of actually writing humor. Spıke Ѧ 15:32 25-Jan-13
I would also point out that we actually have a template that does what the Wikipedia templates do, it is called template:fix. --Mn-z 15:38, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Since an IP is using it, HowAbout:Just protecting it? It seems to fit very well with the Snakes on a Plane page (hmmmm, there's a whole list of snakes on a plane pages, UnBooks and unpoetia too). In relation to the other templates, it seems to stand alone well, maybe just on those pages. The reason I knew of it was because I've edited "Corn snake", and it's there. When I first saw it I smiled (and even if we don't use NSFW templates most people know what they are and would get the joke, imnho). Aleister 16:35 25-1-'13 (I guess I'm leaning towards saving it but with the limited user votes on these pages now it may be best to talk it out)
You can not "protect" template transclusions. Protecting the template would only stop users from editing the template, not using it elsewhere. In fact, {{VFD}} itself is protected. In theory, there is code that could prevent this from appearing on certain pages, but it is complicated, and I don't know how to do it at the moment. Also, in theory, wikia could stop its usage on the spam filter level, but that is even more complicated, further beyond my knowledge, and any page with a spam-trigger is unedittable until the spam trigger is removed.
I would suggest finding the few pages this is relevant on, copy-pasting the code, then deleting the template. --Mn-z 16:46, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Horribly written. The usual grade-school effort to take a character from birth (emphasizing mother's anatomy) through life. The comedy strategy of morphing a lake into a coffee-house singer doesn't work, never touches base with reality, and isn't pursued consistently. It only seems to exist as part of a set. 3. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Articles about geographical features are generally dull. Simply because a lake - when you get down to it - is just a body of water. It's hard to satirise it. The idea of turning a lake into a folk singer is a decent angle, but this article is dull at best, and bad at worst. Kill it.                               Puppy's talk page06:43 02 Feb

  1. PurpleDickVote.png ALL BOW BEFORE KIPPO THE GREAT AND ALMIGHTY ONE!! - Now this is some meta shit! Same as the other one, only with the first two letters of "Wikipedia" dropped this time to make a parody of the original article on Wikipedia, which as also since been rewritten. I've actually been aware of these two articles and their flaws for years now, but as this one glorifies myself, my vanity came in the way of a proper deletion nomination. -- Kip > Talk Works Sophia Commander of the Order USA! 09:48, Jan. 1, 2013

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Lete - "Cyclopedia" is the Bizarro World antithesis to Uncyclopedia. This article was a parody of the original article on Uncyclopedia, which has since been rewritten. Either this is rewritten (I actually like the concept) or deleted, since it makes no sense now. Assuming you could claim it ever made sense. -- Kip > Talk Works Sophia Commander of the Order USA! 09:48, Jan. 1, 2013
