Vroom! (Well it's not exactly a pogo stick...)
A grasshopper, a mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex walked into a bar, and --

Oh, wait, that's not right. I left something out. Let me start over.

A grasshopper, a mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex hopped into a bar, and --

No, no, that's not right either -- the mouse isn't quite right. Let me try it again.

A grasshopper, a kangaroo mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex hopped into a bar, and --

Darn, that's not right either -- Tyrannosaurus Rexes couldn't hop. But I'm sure it was a T. Rex ... let me think -- AHA now I remember!

A grasshopper, a kangaroo mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex on a pogo stick hopped into a bar, and --

Wait, wait, this won't do, I didn't set the stage. You have no idea where these people(?) are, and without that the rest of the story won't make much sense. So let's start this over again.

One rainy spring day, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, a grasshopper, a kangaroo mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex on a pogo stick hopped into a bar, and --

"Just hold on a minute there!" squeaks a tiny voice. It's Bill, who's been hanging on the wall and listening all this time. "Where'd the dinosaur get a pogo stick? They cost money and money was invented after the dinosaurs all died out, so how could a T. Rex have had any money?"

"Bother!" says I to Bill. "Don't interrupt or we'll never get through this! In fact the T Rex -- whose name, by the way, was Harry (later in his life, when he was named to the Parliament, everybody called him The Lord Harry which he thought was a real hoot) -- anyway as I was saying Harry didn't buy the pogo stick, so he didn't need any money."

"What!" squeaks Bill. "'E stole it!? This is a fine how de dooo!"

In point of fact he didn't steal it, either. Let's get on with this, shall we? I'll start over.

One rainy spring day, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, a grasshopper, a kangaroo mouse, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex on a pogo stick which he inherited from his grandmother hopped into a bar, and --

Oh whoops! -- will you just look at the time!! I really have to go do something or other no doubt very important, so I'll finish this up later.
