Alfred Deller.

A countertenor is a high male voice range, similar to the mezzo-soprano vocal range. Countertenors can often be recognised by their enormous beards.

Beards[edit]

Countertenors often have beards. This is to proof that they are not extremely tall boy sopranos. Famous bearded countertenors include Alfred Deller and Andreas Scholl. It it said that touching the beard of Alfred Deller will make you be able to sing very high notes.
