Content problems
Report/discuss unfunny/plagiarized/bad pages at VFD. If the page is less than 24 hours old, you can instead add it to QVFD.
Vandalism
Report vandals to the Ban Patrol.
Notice: On special occasions, the Main Page gets a special theme for the day. If the vandalism could be intentional as a joke (particularly a good joke), don't file a report unless it's stuck that way for more than a day and a half.
Administration problems
Active Admins are listed at UN:AA. Try your luck. If you need a prompt personal response, click Special:Contact. That was a joke.
Problems with FANDOM
We are no longer hosted by FANDOM. If you insist, try Wikia:Report a problem. We have no idea if they'll respond. But you will get a robot email asking you to rate the quality of the response.

Blank Pages[edit]

On my iPad, pages on Uncyclopedia often appear blank; the entire webpage doesn't appear, including navigation and stuff. On Safari, they are always blank and never appear. On Chrome, they sometimes appear, but I often have to switch between desktop and mobile site to make it appear. Dullbananas (talk) 21:32, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

Can you give us a few examples to check? Thanks. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 22:09, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
It happens on all Uncyclopedia pages. Here is a screen recording to show exactly what is happening: https://youtu.be/TWzbFpvBrvgn Dullbananas (talk) 05:06, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
And it only happens when using the desktop site Dullbananas (talk) 15:06, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
I have tried accessing this site on an iPad in Safari. Works. I do know Chrome can be an issue on a Mac on a desktop. Will test other devices. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 16:15, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Is it the case that this issue only comes up on Mac platforms? That's what it sounds like. Unfortunately I haven't got access to a Mac. I'm looking into setting up a VMWare MacOS box; I'm hopeful that I may be able to test that way, but what I'm seeing on the web is that VMWare MacOS on a Linux host is very hit-or-miss. (No guarantees I can help with a fix even if I can test it, of course, but if we've got mac-only problems it's worth pursuing.) -- Snarglefoop (talk) 21:24, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
We've been poking at this. Please see further discussion at Forum:Technical problems on the new website#Https. We've been getting vague but ominous vibrations from the dark corner in which Squid has been living, so for the time being it's been locked up in its tank and is no longer allowed to squirm around on the site. There is at least some small chance that this may have fixed the problems; if you could check and see we'd appreciate it. -- Snarglefoop (talk) 03:06, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
It's now working in both Safari and Chrome — Dullsig0.png Dullsig1.png 22:31, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Good. Seems to have been caused by two broken gadgets. There are still gadgets that don't work but none that break the site. Work will continue in this area. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 22:59 5 June 2019

Math template broken[edit]

Every time I see a page with the math template, it shows "Failed to parse (Missing texvc executable. Please see math/README to configure.):" instead of the actual math. --BFDIBebble (talk) 04:24, 15 June 2019 (UTC)

While we wait for more knowledgeable people to take notice, there is, under Preferences at the top of every page (under Appearance, down at the bottom under Math), three options for the rendering of formulas. Try them all, in order to customize Uncyclopedia's output to fit your browser, and tell us if it fails in all cases. Spıke 🎙️04:30 15-Jun-19
I tried all 3 options and they don't show up properly. (screenshots: MathML with SVG or PNG fallback, LaTeX source, PNG images) --BFDIBebble (talk) 04:43, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
update: the latex option might have showed up properly. --BFDIBebble (talk) 04:50, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
The only display option I've enabled for the math extension is Mathoid/MathML. If you select something else, it probably won't work. If you have "MathML with SVG or PNG fallback" selected and it still doesn't work, there's a deeper problem. Math seems to be working ok for other people -- I don't know what the difference is here. Needs more looking into. Maybe I should enable other display options so they can actually do something. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 05:31 15 June 2019
Looks like we're missing some Tex thing. In fact I'm not even positive we've got Tex installed -- it should be but I looked just now and don't see it. Unfortunately I have to go kill a bunch of orcs that have invaded Mirabar and I won't be back until late tonight so I won't have anything further to say on this for a while. In the mean time, if you could let us know what browser/system combo you're using it might help, since this is only showing up in some cases and we haven't seen it (yet). Snarglefoop (talk) 13:53, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
Okay, there are the two "knowledgeable people" I told you to wait for! An error message that points you to an exact help file to see how to configure stuff is one step of the solution, though I wouldn't know where to look for math/README and in any case cannot reconfigure Uncyclopedia. You say "the latex option might have showed up properly," but what's shown in your illustration is not what you want; it is an output of the source code. Bottom line, several Uncyclopedia articles use <math>. I don't think it's a good idea, because it's cryptic and of niche interest to write "satire equations," but this installation should support it. Spıke 🎙️14:26 15-Jun-19
If we already have it on pages, it's better if it works properly.
It's no surprise that "LaTeX source" works, since it just displays the raw text between the <math> tags. From reading the page I linked to, it appears that you need Mathoid for MathML and texvc for PNG. Mathoid is enabled, and texvc is not. Changing my preferences to use the "PNG images" option produces the "missing texvc" error; changing it back to "MathML with SVG or PNG fallback" restores the math formulas. Why the MathML option wouldn't work for someone else, I don't know. Snarglefoop had to change his math preference away from MathML and back for math to work. If BFDIBebble reappears, I would like to ask: a) Did you try changing your preferences back to "MathML with SVG or PNG fallback" after trying the other options? b) Did you try looking at math formulas logged out, and if so, did they work? ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 22:25 24 June 2019

So you know, I've installed texvc, but I haven't gotten the PNG images option to work yet, though I've made slightly more progress with the issue on the risteq.net server (which hosts my private wiki and Wackypedia). This seems to be extremely difficult to solve, and I won't be working on it for another few days because I have limited internet access. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 21:40 13 August 2019

This is fixed. Turns out latex and dvipng were actually not there. Wow, how amazingly simple, right? I thought I'd installed them, but apparently not. Who knows. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 15:45 29 December 2019

Another math display problem[edit]

Obviously, one might suspect this is related to the above, but it does not involve templates but (apparently) html "math" tags.

In Thermodynamics, the section Thermodynamics#Social Dynamics has math that displays correctly. However, I attempted to do minor editing (added "See also" and corrected headers capitalization only) and got error messages in "preview": Social dynamics01.jpg
I did not try to save the changes and it still displays correctly for me. A problem or not? --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 01:29, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

The section above was actually about math tags, but yes, this looks like a different problem. I tried previewing the section and didn't see that. It's probably at Wikipedia's end, judging by the error message and meta.wikimedia.org being down a few minutes ago. Meta-Wiki is back up, so if it's due to Wikimedia downtime it shouldn't be happening now. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 02:14 27 June 2019
Thank you. Worksforme now. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 23:59, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

Please delete my account, Un-RSCakeBomb, and its User page[edit]

I do not wish to be associated with this account anymore. I cannot log into it, because an error returns which says "An unknown error occurred." Also, "There is no email address recorded for user "Un-RSCakeBomb"." The preceding unsigned comment was added by 136.158.33.142 (talk • contribs)

Do you want the account re-set or deleted? --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 11:10, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Deleted, thanks. I'm not really interested in Uncyclopedia anymore.

I have replaced your user page with {{Retired}} so as to conceal the prior page history. Your 8 edits and 3 contacts (all from me) remain. If you can't log in, no one else can either, so the account is gone. Spıke 🎙️22:09 22-Mar-21

Why?: namespace[edit]

Special:WhatLinksHere doesn't work for pages in Why?:, as the question mark seems to introduce a parameter rather than be part of the target pagename. Can we do anything about this (short of renaming the entire namespace)? Spıke 🎙️22:01 22-Mar-21

Please delete User:JohnSLSingleton[edit]

That would be me. As a request for password reset by username gets the response “There is no email address recorded for user…”, quite evidently I did not create an ID here; the user page was copied as content from Wikipedia. Please delete it. Thank you. 98.100.141.42 16:26, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Done; can be undone; noted on your user talk page. If you would like to regain access to your old account, please post at User talk:Llwy-ar-lawr. Spıke 🎙️16:54 8-May-21

Request to merge account[edit]

My old account User:Jacaranda has not yet logged in for this 2.5 years and found unable to log in due to site relocation. Here I have just edited my fandom page (see [1]). May this account merge with my old account? Thanks for help. SoHome (talk) 19:53, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

We'll be happy to do that. The best person to do that is Admin Llwy-ar-lawr. SoHome has no edit history; seems what you want is to have SoHome's password give access to Jacaranda's trappings. But please confirm on Llwy's talk page which name you want to be your user name here going forward. Spıke 🎙️20:31 16-Nov-21
PS - I found Special:RenameUser and Special:UserMerge; Llwy or Dark Web, White Hat, could someone write an intro for these pages to tell me exactly what I'd be doing? Spıke 🎙️20:37 16-Nov-21
There's a black question mark with the text "Help" on Special:RenameUser that points to mw:Help:Renameuser (case-sensitive title). The unlisted equivalent for Special:UserMerge would be mw:Extension:UserMerge, though the extension itself controls the Special Page. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 02:48, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
I've done the merge. Jacaranda's edits and pages are now at SoHome; if you'd like the account renamed to your old name, let me know and I'll do that too. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 05:53 17 November 2021
