How do you make a template? i've got some ideas--TheNewYarkov 01:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Create your template at Template:Namehere (e.g. Template:Apple), do your coding thing there, and then you can insert the template on other pages by putting the name in double curly brackets (e.g. {{Apple}}). However, only create a template if it's likely to be used on multiple pages. —rc (t) 01:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Most templates use the box command like so {{box| bg=cyan|border=solid 2px firebrick|Peppers.jpeg|115px| <big>BRIAN PEPPERS HAS TOUCHED THIS ARTICLE!</big>| <center>"Someone left the door unlocked, and Brian Peppers came in. He has touched this article and touched everyone that contributed to it."</center> <center><b>Make sure to keep children away from this article, or else Brian Peppers might touch them as well.</b></center> <p>(Translation: [[Brian Peppers]] Likes this article) }} Which is the Brian Peppers template I created to put on a few articles. --Lt. ICUed. We don't make templates linking to ourselves or our own articles (usually), at least not in the mainspace. Do it in a subpage of your userspace if you must, but even so don't spam it across many pages. I'll give you marks for restraint though, since you've only been putting it on talk pages so far and not at the top of articles like most n00bs would do. -- (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 07:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
