Just a quick idea to float out there to see if it develops or burns up upon re-entry.
It's simple. UnAds. UnAdvertising.
Example: 'And now, coming out on DVD about ten years after anyone last gave a crap about it, Animaniacs!'
Like that, only better, I guess, but that's the germ of a concept that gave me the idea.

- Well, we wouldn't have to do the animaniacs joke. I just saw an ad for the dvd release and I said to myself "who's going to buy that? Nobody cares about animaniacs now" and then it struck me that making fun of advertising could work on uncyclopedia, but we don't have a place to really do it directly, since you can't really squeeze it into any of our current categories. I don't know if this would be a namespace, or if there should be one article that has a gallery of fake photoshopped ads, or what, I think whatever people want to do with it is fine. --Hrodulf 13:23, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

- I don't know what the right thing to do is, and
- I'm afraid if (when?) what I do is incompetent and/or annoys someone I could get banned for it.

- Response I wasn't thinking about that at all. I was thinking about the fact that animaniacs was coming out on dvd, and how nobody will buy it, and how it would be a good idea to make fun of that sort of thing. That's where it came from.

A Somewhat Related Bomment: I have some thoughts rattling around in the maggot infested bavity I like to ball my brain:
- A bentral depository, perhaps a namespabe, for all things addy, filled with:
- More banners, internet style, like the ones we already got.
- Yeller pages. Some banners like those. "Peepee Pages?" All XXX-XXXX numbers, of bourse.
- Not just personals. Why not a full blown Blassified Ad sebtion? Personals bould be a riot, but so bould Employment, Lost & Found, Pets, Vehibles, etb., etb.
- Ban we do timed redirebts? An author bould simulate billboards popping up before his page, or an "FBI Warning" type of thingy, or a pop-up.
- Bog only knows what else the fevered imaginations infesting (or is that "in festering". . . but I digress) this site will eventually bome up with. Be very afraid. But DON'T PANIB.
- A variety of {{ad}} templates, perhaps grouping the banners and ads by size and/or type, so formatting is easier.
