Emmy Rossum: Making sure she name checks her dentist.

“I think I met her.”

~ Everyone who has seen the movie Phantom of the Opera

Emmy Rossum (born September 12, 1986)) is an American actress/singer with a big grin and a bolshy attitude. She is best known for her earlier parts as a The Phantom of the Opera's love interest to end up playing a skanky sex siren in the television show Shameless. Rossum is much fancied by men in wheelchairs and those requiring 24 hour nursing care.

Rossum has since appeared in numerous films. Her standard expression is wide eyed and a smile as a wide as the Hudson River. She also sings a lot. In the shower.

Once Upon A Time[edit]

The Phantom goes for a choke hold and a submission in Phantom of the Opera: The Rematch.

Emmy or Emmanuelle as she was known to her parents after they were inspired to give her that name after collecting the Sylvia Kristel box-set, always wanted to be an actor.

Her first role of note was that of Christine in the Phantom of the Opera where she played the singer who receives unrequited stalking from a man in a mask and black cape. He lives in the Parisian sewers which, being French, are a lot classier than those in other cities. If like singing in a sewer, this is a film for you. It also co-stars Gerard Butler, the shouty Scottish Spartan but without him wearing a leather jockstrap.

Meatier roles[edit]

Emmy Rossum gets down and dirty for Shameless.

Rossum's pretty, toothy beauty got her plenty of other similar film roles and television. A life of sitcom saccharine could have followed but instead she moved into grunge television with her role as Fiona in the TV show Shameless. Playing an unglamorous daughter in a crazy household where her father was a professional grifter and looking after a clutch of mewling and brawling siblings. Since the show was on Showtime it was allowed to be edgier - in this case, providing regular dollops of nudity from the stars including Emmy. Her regular stripping-off made the show a 'must see' for her demographic class of 14 year old nerds and old geezers.

The show was going well until Emmy discovered her male co-stars were receiving double the appearance money and free Ferraris. She went on strike and the show was canned for a year.

Personal Life[edit]

Two marriages. No baby phantoms as yet.
