Rewriting as Lua[edit]
A note, for anyone interested: I'm rewriting this hopelessly broken template as Lua. Actually, I'm just importing Wikipedia's with their wikipedia:Template:Convert/Transwiki guide. We may not need the bells and whistles (hectare? nautical mile?) but kilogram–pound and meter–foot conversions are useful for weights and heights in infoboxes. To me, this justifies using Lua.
The documentation is currently out of sync: the example {{convert|60|to|170|kg|lb}} will break, because the code to is passed as parameter 2, which expects a unit. {{convert|6|ft|5|in|m}} will also break, because parameter 3 also expects a unit. {{formatnum:...}} will break whenever a number isn't given, including on the template itself. There are still errors I haven't covered. So I'm importing from Wikipedia and cleaning up the mess.
