Washington D.C., US--US president George Bush has announced his plan for US energy independence: offshore drilling. It's estimated that this drilling will provide a much needed 5.2 billion barrels of oil.
“The time has come where we can provide oil for our children, and our children's children, and their children. Offshore drilling will create a lasting supply of oil for our free nation. ”
Sissy democrats, however, were quick to complain that offshore drilling would have severe negative impacts on tourism and wildlife they can't swim. Some members of government had to be pains in the ass and look critically at President Bush's new energy policy. One pain-in-the-ass congress member responded,
“This only provides oil for 9 months. With current US oil consumption at 22 million barrels of oil per day, this oil would only provide 9 months of oil. It's time for a long-lasting solution to this problem.”
