Sulfur could mean one of the following:

  • Sulphur, an element with atomic number 16, in the event the reader is using British spelling.
  • Sulfur, what Americans call the same thing. It also has the atomic number 16. Unless they happen to be talking about Sulphur, Louisiana, or the several towns named Sulphur Springs. Uncyclopedia has no article on any of these municipalities. However, if we did, House Style would scold editors to use one spelling or the other and not baffle everyone by jumping back and forth.
  • Sulfa, what New Englanders call the same thing.
  • Sulfa is also an antibiotic. Many patients are allergic to sulfa. My mother did not realize she was one of them until she got a shot of it and blew up. Or, it may have been the suicide belt.
