Malik Obama
Abon'go Malik "Roy" Obama (born March 42, 1958), better known by his stage name Meme Inhaler III, is a Kenyan–American rapper, songwriter, Twitter troll, poet, businessman, political consultant, and part-time comedian who is the half-brother of former U.S. President Barack Obama. He gained popularity as an underground rapper under the name "Pepe the Frog", due to his self-proclaimed physical resemblance to the beloved character. Following his international popularity, he soon became the first Twitter rapper (the second being Keemstar).
Early life[edit]
Contrary to what others have said, Malik Obama was not born in Honolulu, Hawaii and is not a Christian; rather, he was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya as a Muslim. His parents are economist Barack Obama Sr. and his first wife, Kezia Obama (née Aoko). Later, Barack Sr. divorced Kezia and left for Hawaii to father Barack Jr. with Stanley Ann Dunham, leaving Malik to live with Kezia.
Rapping career[edit]
After earning a degree in accounting from the University of Nairobi, Malik decided to move to Washington, D.C. to become a political consultant and rapper to support the East Coast. There, he met politician Charles C. Johnson of Republican Enemy. Chuck C. taught him everything he needed to know about rapping, despite being a doctor and politician. They happened to be next door neighbors in a very rich neighborhood, or as they called it, the Thot Patrol.
After studying the craft of rap from Chuck C., Malik began rapping as an underground rapper in rap battles. He was known as "Pepe the Frog"; although this was a mistake at first, Obama took a liking to the nickname and went along with it. He never lost a rap battle and soon became quite popular with the people. In 1985, Malik met his half-brother Barack for the first time in D.C. They had a very competitive, yet initially friendly relationship; they both had similar tastes and loved memes. They would often challenge each other to meme rap battles, with Malik usually being the victor, as in his own words: "Malik inhales the memes. He exhales the memes. Injects the memes into his bloodstream. He needs the memes to survive." However, their relationship eventually turned sour as Malik became disillusioned with his half-brother's liberal ways.
Malik gained much popularity and got a record deal in D.C., where he began recording an album in 2013 under the stage name "Meme Inhaler III". He finished recording his album entitled My Brother's An Oreo, 'Nuff Said by 2016, and it was released in support of Donald Trump's election campaign. His album's pre-release slogan was "Obama on the TV, Obama on the radio, it means that much to me." It was recognized in the 2016 Rapper Convention (2RC) as the year's best album, beating out Kendrick Lamar's Unmixed Unmastered. On top of that, Malik beat out all of the other rappers in the GOP Epic Rap Battles, including Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, John Kasich, and Jeb!. He then became an international rapper — which angered Barack and made him feel betrayed — performing around the country and the world, angering his half-brother even more.
Controversy[edit]
Malik's hit single "Mountain Dew Is for Cucks", released on December 13, 2016, caused much controversy with fans and fellow rappers in the rap community. It has been criticized by all, and Malik was later booed off the stage while performing the song. One underground rapper had said that the song "cost Meme Inhaler III a lot of credibility as a rapper. Everyone knows soy milk is for cucks."
Another hit that has caused controversy is "Traps Are Gay", where Obama expresses his non-dislike of gays and how liking femboys means you are repressing your own homosexual feelings. Malik currently denies this and claims the song was not recorded by him but by Sarah Palin, out of anger and jealousy. He claims she broke into his studio, recorded it, and the producers never knew it wasn't Obama's song.
One of Obama's best-selling singles, which has been remixed and re-released multiple times, is "I Am the True Obama". It continues to be a top seller to this day, but has been criticized by fellow rappers and critics as an unoriginal ripoff using material from John Lennon's "I Am the Walrus".
Personal life[edit]
When he's not busy rapping in the clubs and trolling on Twitter in the U.S., Malik lives in the Obamas' ancestral home of Nyang'oma Kogelo, a Kenyan village of several hundred people, preferring its slow pace to that of the big city. He runs a small electronics shop a half-hour's drive away in another town, where he sells people gadgets in exchange for Bitcoins. Although Barack has dispersed permanently to the soulless USA, most other Obamas, including Malik, still consider their rural village on the shores of Lake Victoria to be their true home. They feel that those who have left the village have become culturally "lost" and "cucked".
