  • That said, I think it should be rewritten so that the joke ties in to The Flintstones more. I never watched the show much, so I won't do it, but perhaps someone else will see this and take it upon themselves. Another idea might be to tie it in to actual flint, the crystal that is found in rocks, or perhaps mocking the actual city of Flint? Occurs on hundreds of pages, some of them user pages where the author legitimately uses it to note that they weren't written to be funny, but also in mainspace (including last night on Zune) to pointlessly announce that the article includes fact-based humor. Fact-based humor is a legitimate genre and, in fact, there must be some link to fact to engage the reader or you're left with Randumbo. But the best way to kill any joke is to have a loud template announcing to the reader that he's about to read a joke. In short, merely a template for template's sake.
