I am dead serious that if you engineer a Keep vote with a promise, and then break the promise, you don't prevail in the vote.     I am not so attached to any article (especially this one in the state its in now) that I would beg people to keep it on with no intention to work on it. I admire you spike with how quick you work to save an article. But Im not you spike. I had a competition to administer and PLS in the mean time and dont have hours a day to touch stuff. I read it years ago - I think I might have even seen it pre-1995, on paper being passed around the classroom. The text of the piece is here: [1] There are thousands of copies on the Internet: [2]. The original author seems to be unknown or anonymous, otherwise I would have deleted it as a copyvio. But in my opinion, we don't need non-original content, even if there aren't copyright concerns.     I do enjoy your photo--and larger than our usual lead-off photo--just didn't think it was a complete Uncyclopedia article, more properly a good invitation into one. It didn't take nine, except that one of them started a campaign to slap this on user pages after nominator explained the problem and offered a better work-around. Now, I famously interfere with VFD votes by trying to convert bad pages to good, but this effort converts an orphan bad page to a widely referenced bad page, which seems like gaming the vote.   • It's a complete article, with a nice shoop, on a supposed part of the brain that induces numb thinking. But it veers between its trite concept of documenting some of the stupid things that people do, and encyclopedia clichés like "It is thought to work mostly by....have frequently been quoted to say things suchs as....Much further research must be done." "It's not that long" ~ Some Guy on Reasons Why People Create Articles With Horribly Long Titles For No Apparent Reason, Hoping Somebody Will Randomly Stumble Upon It And Remark On The Length Of The Title, But Then Forgets About It In Five Minutes Later Because Their Gay Granny Had A Seizure, which is an article thats not really that long on closer inspection, but could be longer if it used words of a nature that don't really make any sense to the article in question and just start to make a sort of random speech and somehow carry on the speech without needing a period, full stop, question mark, exclamation point, or any other kind of sentence stopping device, but will inevitable need one as the speech will just keep going on and on and on and on for eternity, ad infinitum, forever, infinitively, until they die, until the speaker's voice disappears, until everybody or almost everybody leaves and thus do not care, which is what some senators try to do to prevent a bill from becoming a law, which is called filibusting... and you know what I mean... oh wait do those count as periods? < that does!! PERIOD FULL STOP... ETC... - I'm not just another n00b...oh wait, I am. LOL vandalz

      • You know what an excellent web browser for dealing with huge crap is? Konqueror. You should try it sometime. Excellent web browser, except for the fact that the css it supports seems to be chosen completely at random.
