  • Actually, everything is saved on server space somewhere. Removing clutter from articles (like parser functions or excessive templates) would decrease average article size, reducing bandwidth (as in how much data is transferred across the interent). Removing text or dividing medium length articles into shorter ones probably won't effect bandwidth much, as it would likely cause articles to be viewed at a faster rate.
  • We shouldn't worry about bandwidth issues for deletions when editing unless our Wikia tells us something is an issue. I believe there is a policy on that on Wikipedia, but I can't find it at the moment. If a forum post or talk page is taking to longer to load, consider asking an admin (or the page owner for userpages) to archive parts of it. --Mn-z 00:40, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

  • With regards to the copyright claims, most of those have been spammed around the internet, and would not be high risk copyright violations. The original authors probably don't care/don't have the resources to file complaints, and we could argue fair use on the grounds of showing internet phenomena.   • To be consistent, then, wouldn't we then have to remove all images that do not have a valid creative commons license, unless they have a valid fair use rational somewhere else? And I don't want to get into the issue of "fair use" images created for commercial purposes and owned by large corporations with equally large legal departments. Simply moving the page to user space would not solve any copyright problems. And, that article has a more valid fair use claim than, say, throwing a funny animal pic on one's userpage, like the one with a icanhazcheezburger weblink on Sannse userpage (its in a choose command if you don't see it).
  • Well, here's the thing. Satire is fair use. I can legally post pictures of the copyrighted film X-Men Origins:Wolverine if I'm making fun of the movie. Most of the pages on Uncyclopedia are satire of one form or another. But this one isn't. This one is just imported humor. It's jokes told elsewhere, retold here. That's not satire. Honestly, it bothers me more that it's imported humor than that it's probably illegal because it's imported humor. The text captions are original, and it is an anthology of pop culture, like the pages on ED but pg-13 and without the cyberbullying and the porn ads. Basically, like in education, stealing 1 person's idea is plagiarism, stealing 20 people's ideas is a term paper. Like I said before, do we really want to go through the forum and userpages and remove possibly copyrighted LOL cats and the other 80% of our images that don't have proper fair use documentation or a valid fair claim in a given context?
